Beaconsfield To Reims

Congratulations to Alex, Simon and Russell, who have just completed a gruelling cycling tour from Beaconsfield to Reims, raising money for the Curzon Junior Youth Club. After a wet and hilly 350 miles, the team arrived victorious in Reims for a well earned glass of champagne. The team supported by Heather and Warren have raised over £4,000 so far.

The Curzon Junior Youth Club is run by Sarah Wood with fantastic skill and enthusiasm. The core group of young people who are attracted to the club have continued to use the facilities and now get even more involved with the activities on offer. The membership has also increased substantially through positive word of mouth between young people and parents. This has helped them build and sustain a healthy membership without the need or additional promotion in schools.

Activities on offer over the year have included a variety of sports such as football, cricket, rounders and dodge ball, as well as making T-shirts and cards, clay modeling, tile and glass painting, smoothie making, cooking, climbing and end of term discos - which always go down really well.

The Curzon Junior Youth Club is a vibrant and energetic club that continues to provide local young people with a fun space to socialise and engage with other young people, while providing parents with the peace of mind that their child is safe and happy. With continued funding for the next year they hope to be able to sustain the level of membership that they have while delivering an even better programme of activities, led by the young people and their needs.
