Our ride, during MND Awareness Week 2007, starts at busy London Stansted airport before we journey deep into the rolling Essex countryside to Harwich for a ferry crossing into Holland.
Over the next two days we will travel along cycle paths across generally flat terrain, enjoying the best of Holland - passing picturesque sand dunes, nature reserves, dykes and provincial towns.
The flat landscape and open skies are punctuated with the windmills, for which Holland is famous.
As we complete our challenge we ride through the narrow streets of Amsterdam, criss-crossing some of its many canals en-route.
Simi Epstein, Head of Community Fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association said, "If you have been touched by the disease it is a good way to raise money to ensure we find a cure".
