Congratulations to Team Chunky Whippets who all finished the gruelling Etape Du Tour (Stage 19 of the Tour Du France). Raising vital funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Close to their target of £100,000 the team have raised over the last 10 years just under £84,000.
On 6th November Steven Smith will run the New York marathon as a finale to a gruelling year to raise £100k for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
It has been a decade since Steven and his friends embarked on a mission to raise £100k for the MND Association. Having lost his mother to Motor Neurone Disease, a progressive neurodegenerative illness that causes, amongst other things, muscle wastage and loss of mobility, the charity is very close to Steven’s heart.
The cause of Motor Neurone Disease is unknown and there is no known cure and the money raised by his efforts, and those of his team, will be used to improve the quality of life for those who suffer with the condition.
This year Steve and his friends have picked up the pace and by participating in eleven major gruelling events have raised the total to £85k.
All that stands between achieving the £100k challenge is the New York Marathon and your support.
- If 300 people each donate £50 we will be over the line.
- If 600 people each donate £1 per mile we will be over the line.
